ARTIST BIO
Slamming together the frenetic energy of midwest indie rock with electro danceability, Go Indigo is a new indie-pop act proudly hailing from Kansas City. Initially founded as a bedroom pop project while living abroad in Nîmes, France, the band has since blossomed into one of KCMO’s sharpest rock acts. And with their debut EP AVEC AMOUR, Go Indigo introduces a fully realized version of the sound they’ve been honing since their 2024 arrival.
Go Indigo is the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist Beau Harris, who finally takes the helm as a bandleader after years of touring as guitarist with Old News (We’re Trying Records), The Travel Guide (Air House Records), and more. Splitting his last 5 years between France, Spain, and Kansas City, Harris imbues his midwest emo roots with electro-tinged dance hooks and pop sensibility. The result is a band that nods to contemporary icons like Bad Suns, The Wombats, and Death Cab for Cutie while maintaining an earnest midwestern charm and quirk.
The band’s sun-soaked sound rippled through the midwest indie scene with their breakout demo, Entertainment. Quickly followed by a proper debut EP, AVEC AMOUR, the record cemented Go Indigo as one of Kansas City’s sharpest indie acts.
AVEC AMOUR conceals a litany of interpersonal frustrations under layers of glittering pop polish. Swirling, infectious breakup hits “Take It or Leave It” and “Out of Focus” kick off the EP’s first leg, followed by fuzz-laden freak outs on “Copy and Pasted” and “Starting Over”. The band’s driving low-end grooves, interlaced guitar work, and left-field vocal hooks propelled the EP to #2 on Jedd Beaudoin’s (Pop Matters, NPR) Best of 2025 list, a front page interview on The Pitch KC, and tens of thousands of streams in its first 2 months. Go Indigo rocketed into 2026 with a nearly sold out hometown show at The Madrid Theatre in Kansas City.
